Andrew Patrick Golay, 68, of Portland, OR passed away peacefully on July 2, 2019. He was born on Dec. 6, 1950 in Jacksonville, FL to George & Patricia Golay, who predeceased him. He graduated from Chaminade High School in Hollywood, FL in 1968, where he lettered in basketball. He attended Broward College before earning a mechanical engineering degree from UF in Gainesville. Andy retired in 2007 after a distinguished career as facilities manager for the Oregon Youth Authority. He wintered in Ft. Lauderdale & was devoted to family & brought joy to all who knew him. Andy traveled the world & expressed his passion for nature by living a green life & joining environmental causes. He is survived by his son Michael (Annalisa) Toth; brothers Michael (Michal Ann), George (Margaret), Van & Danny (Jackie); sisters Leslie (Rich) Sheffield, Trish (Ron Esch) Golay & Jeanne (Hamilton Tharp) Golay; 3 grandchildren; 13 nieces & nephews; & his loving partner Nancy Burke. Robert Rich Bailey,54, born in Miami spent his life in Miami, Vero Beach and Ft. Lauderdale. Cancer took his life on July 17.Bobby was a quiet, private man in a family full of outgoing personalities. He would say. “Someone has to listen.” He was a very good athlete, musician, loved the outdoors and loved to travel. He joined an ice hockey team before he really knew how to skate well. Traveling with groups like outward-bound, he enjoyed the peace and solitude of nature. At the many family gatherings, he always had quiet, clever comments that were usually funnier than the antics of his father or brothers. With his wife Josie by his side he enjoyed a beautiful, wilderness getaway in central Florida where there dogs JoJo and Wolf could roam.Bob attended Miami Country Day School in Miami and Graduated from St. Edwards School in Vero Beach. At St. Edwards he awarded best player in soccer and football. He attended University of Florida. He loved his Florida Gators.Professionally he was the owner of Good Earth Properties a successful real estate and Property management company. Bob is predeceased by his mother, Johannah Bailey. Shirley Ann (Kendall) Elliott, 79 of Northern Cambria formerly South Florida passed away early Wednesday morning, July 17, 2019. She was born October 23, 1939 in Fall River, MA, a daughter of the late Russell Arnold and Gladys Mae (Ward) Negus. Surviving are five daughters, Susan Giesler, Donna Peters, Linda Paterno, Brenda Hansel, and Caren McClelland; three stepsons, Michael, Timothy, and Thomas Elliott; fourteen grandchildren, Steven, Elizabeth, and Tiffany Giesler, Craig Jr., and Michael Peters, Matthew Kendall, Amelia, Robert, Ann Marie, and Joseph Paterno, Dustin and Chelsea Hansel, Chase and Peyton Grace McClelland; twelve great grandchildren, Jeremy, Jessica, Justin, Jamie, Jayden, Daniel, Kialee, Brian, Leah, Emma, Blake and Brody; a niece, Debra Dickson; two nephews, David Heaton and Adam Darnaby. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Dickson and Beverly Darnaby. Shirley was a bookkeeper for 20 years at Brooks American Sprinkler Company. She was a member of Davie United Methodist Church in Davie, FL and was a long time member of Sweet Adelines, Nova Singers, and Church Choirs. Shirley enjoyed singing, baking banana bread, crossword puzzles, riding roller coasters and loved socializing. Gyalog, Frank, 72, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019. Born October 31, 1946 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Frank was a U.S. Navy veteran who served our country in Vietnam. He enjoyed bodybuilding and won the Mr. America title in 1991. Frank is survived by his wife of 38+ years, Judy, who he married after dating for 2 weeks. He could always make her laugh. Marilyn Wolfe Brown passed away at her home on July 10, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Findley, Ohio on December 15, 1926 to Eileen and John Wolfe. In 1951 she married James Brown and moved to Florida where they raised three children. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 68 years, James, a son, Michael (Sonia) Brown, daughter, Conni Murphy, and daughter, Nancy (Dennis) Rudasill. She also leaves behind four granddaughters, Shannon Brown, Kelly (Christopher) Van Buskirk, Casey (Adam Sharpe) Brown, Stacey Carmody, and five great-grandchildren, Bryce, Leah, Lena, Dylan and Roman, who lovingly called her “Grandma Rocket.”A mass in Marilyn’s honor will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 1:00 PM at St. Coleman Church, 1285 SE 22nd Ave., Pompano Beach, Florida, followed by internment at 3:00 PM at Lauderdale Memorial Park, 2001 SW 4th Ave., Ft. Otilia Mendez Sirera passed away on July 4th at the age of 108. Born in Vilela, Spain, she was the wife of Joseph Sirera who predeceased her. She is survived by her son Joseph daughter Judy granddaughters Lisa (Bruce) Capon and Denise (Erik) Day, grandson Joseph and five great grandchildren, Austin and Alyssa Day, Brandon and Brittany Capon and Michael Sirera. She lived in New Jersey after immigrating from spain and met many lifelong friends during her time in Maplewood. Upon moving to Coral Springs, Tillie resided at Park Summit Retirement Residences. She led an active live taking daily walks and exercising. She loved being outside. She loved playing BINGO, Black Jack and other card games. Her favorite time of day was when she watched her game shows, “The Price is Right” and “Wheel of Fortune.” She loved visiting with people and talking about her life and helping many of the residents. Her wonderful smile could light up a room. She Truly had a beautiful soul. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. A Memorial gathering will be held 2 P.M. Nadeau, Phillip Roy, age 78, passed through the pearly gates of heaven, on July 18, 2019, freed from pain and at peace.He was born in Bristol, CT., on September 26, 1940. He spent the majority of his life in Massachusetts, retiring to Fort Lauderdale, Fl. in 2004.He raised two sons, Roy and Tim, both of Massachusetts. He also leaves a sister, Iris Anastasi, husband, Joe, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, sister, Joyce Winters, husband Robert, of Simsbury, CT., grandsons, Cory, wife Shelby, of California, Sean, of Massachusetts, and one great grandson, Stryker.He will be missed, Rest in Peace, until we meet again.

Mary Frances Works passed away July 12, 2019, at the age of 88 surrounded by her loving family. Mary Frances was born in Jacksonville, FL on May 27, 1931. She moved to Coral Gables, FL when she was twelve years old. After graduation from Ponce De Leon High School she attended Florida State University and graduated from the University of Miami. During college she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and was the sweetheart of Sigma Chi fraternity. In 1953, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Miami. After college she was married to Donald Works Jr. in Coral Gables and moved to Spokane, Washington where she was an educator on the Fairchild Air Force Base. Mary Frances and Don returned to Coral Gables and eventually settled in Fort Lauderdale, FL where they raised their three children and were active in many organizations. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Fort Lauderdale Junior Women’s Club (Past President), Beaux Arts, Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club, and the Columns Society of Pine Crest School. From the inception of the organization, Mary Frances was a “Golden Cane” donating funds used to benefit athletics and scholar athletes at the University of Miami. After the passing of her husband, Don, she enjoyed many years of travel and companionship with Norman Anderson. She was an avid University of Miami fan, attended Grace Community Church and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary Frances will be remembered for her kindness, grace and faith. She was a true Southern lady and had an amazing love for life. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed.Mary Frances is survived by her children Donald Carlton Works III (Leni), Dorothy Krutulis (John), and Mary Wood (Steve); nine grandchildren Donald Carlton Works IV, Stephanie Michelle Works Landry (Jared), Anthony Michael Viviano (Kris), Brittany Leigh Krutulis Suarez (Alfredo), John Wilson Krutulis (Whitney), Megan Leigh Wood, Grant Preston Wood, Austin Hayes Wood and Taylor Stuart Wood and seven great-grandchildren Grayson Landry, Owen Landry, Trenten Viviano, Sadie Suarez, Sebastian Suarez, Spencer Suarez, Elle Krutulis, and Ines Krutulis. Her husband of 41 years, Donald Carlton Works, Jr. and her parents Samuel Preston and Dorothy Pinkston predeceased her.A private service for immediate family will be held. Steven was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He passed away at the age of 80. He had been involved for 52 years in the aviation industry. A retiree of Northwest Airlines, Steven received the Wright Brothers award for donating his time, talent and energy to the various foundations to preserve and fly aircraft for the purpose of honoring the memory and sacrifices made by thousands of aircrew during the Second World War. Through his dedication and effort he played an important part in keeping the history alive. Aviation was a monumental part of his life.

Clyde Edmund DeShields, 89, long-time resident and businessman of Boca Raton, FL, entered into eternal rest July 18, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marjorie Larson DeShields; sons David (Janice)DeShields, Daniel (Maryann) DeShields, Steven (Cynthia) DeShields; daughter, Debbie (Jim) Stine; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Clyde was born March 20, 1930 to Clyde and Dovie DeShields in Atlanta, Georgia. Raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Clyde, from a young age, showed his entrepreneurial spirit: delivering newspapers, raising chickens, racing horses and always looking for ways to get ahead in life. He was a gifted athlete and excelled at both football and track at Fort Lauderdale High, holding several school records for decades. Clyde graduated high school in 1948, receiving college scholarship offers from a myriad of universities to play ball. Clyde’s commitment to helping his single mother kept him in Ft. Lauderdale and he began to learn the millwork business. In 1952 he married the love of his life, Marjorie Larson. From 1953 – 1955, Clyde served in the army, spending time in S.C., Indiana and Yokohama, Japan. At the close of the Korean War, Clyde was awarded an honorable discharge. In 1957, Clyde founded Smith and DeShields, Inc. in Boca Raton. Along with his business partner, Aris Smith (deceased) and later the efforts of his children, Clyde grew a business that withstood the test of time. Clyde was known as a fierce competitor and fair employer. In 1979, Clyde and Marge purchased property in Big Sky, Montana and thus began his love of the West. Whether exploring on horseback or by Harley, Clyde created lasting friendships and contributed to the local business and philanthropic communities. Clyde was an avid fisherman and enjoyed time on the water with his family in the Florida Keys, the rivers of Montana and the inland waters of Alaska. A legacy Clyde leaves that few people know of is his commitment to helping single mothers secure Christian and higher education for their children. Since 1976, through their financial generosity, Clyde and Marge have helped countless families elect private Christian education. Clyde never spoke openly about this gifting, but it was very important to him. This commitment continues today. In addition to his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Clyde leaves behind two sisters: Ann Norris of Orlando, FL and Jeanne Bass Winston of Jacksonville, FL as well as many members of the extended Larson family. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 p.m. on July 26 at Glick Family Funeral Home. Sanford “Sandy” Martin, 90, of Boca Raton FL passed away Monday, July 1st at the Trustbridge Hospice in Delray after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Sandy was born in Brooklyn NY on August 1, 1928. He attended and played football at Erasmus High School where he was an All-American, and the University of Iowa. He bravely served his country in the Korean War where he was stationed in Germany. In 1956 he married his beloved wife of 53 years, Marsha Martin, who preceded him in death in 2009, and raised his family in Woodbury NY before moving to Boca Raton in 1985. Sandy loved golf, movies, and spending time with his many friends, but most of all he took great joy in his family and his dog Skylar by whom he will be sorely missed. Sandy leaves behind his loving children Doug & Teri Martin of West Windsor NJ, Michelle Martin of West Palm Beach, and Curt & Stacy (Martin) Levine of Boca Raton. He will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Rachel & Scott Martin and Madison Levine, who made him so proud and brought him such great joy. Barry Joel Brown, age 86, died July 17 at Francis House in Syracuse, NY, after a brief illness. He grew up in Camden, NJ, and attended Camden High School and then graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He ran a successful business as a CPA for many years in Cherry Hill, NJ where he put his love of numbers to excellent use. He and his wife, Barbara, retired to Bradenton and then Coconut Creek, FL, where they lived at Wynmoor until her death. In 2015, he moved to The Nottingham in Jamesville, NY, where he earned a reputation as a crack bridge player and became a true Yankees fan. A lifelong jazz lover, Barry was known as a very kind man who liked to fly under the radar. He is survived by his daughters, Harriet (Jamie Young) and Kasey (Norma Mendez); his sister, Lois (Dr. Myron) Schaffer; and two granddaughters. Greenville (NC) – Mr. Reggie Osteen, 61, passed away, Monday, July 15, 2019, at Vidant Medical Center with his family by his side Services will be held at the Evans Carter Funeral Chapel in High Springs, FL, on Monday, July 22 at 11 am with interment to follow at Forest Grove Cemetery, Alachua, FL. Mr. Osteen, a fourth generation native born Floridian, was born to Wallace and Ethel (Suggs) Osteen in Fort Pierce, FL, but lived his formative years in Newberry, FL. He graduated from Newberry (FL) High School and attended the University of Florida prior to beginning work with Hughes Supply, Inc., Gainesville, FL, in 1980. As he rose through the ranks at Hughes to become a Branch Manager, he relocated first to Sarasota then to the Pompano Beach Branch of their Electrical Division. In 2005, he moved to World Electric Supply, in Pompano Beach, as Regional Operations Manager until his retirement in 2017. Predeceased by his parents, his sister, Judy Wetmore Erickson, and his brother, William Wallace Osteen, he is survived by his beloved & devoted wife of 40 years, Nancy, and their son, Ryan and his wife Kimberly, and two granddaughters, Makayla Brooke and Sarah Grace; two brothers, Robert Osteen (Louise) of Conroe, TX, and Thomas Osteen (Joan) Wilmington, OH, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Bonnie Osteen, Boca Raton, FL, in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
