Ed Sheeran Reportedly Married Cherry Seaborn in a Secret Wedding

It was a very merry Christmas in the Sheeran-Seaborn household. Reports are surfacing that singer Ed Sheeran wed longtime girlfriend Cherry Seaborn in late December in a secret winter wedding.

The Sun is reporting that the pair tied the knot in front of 40 friends and family members at their home in Suffolk, England.

“Ed got married a few days before Christmas. It was very quiet—just Ed’s oldest school pals, limited family and the priest,” The Sun reports. “He wanted no fuss and he wanted it to be something entirely for them—just a tiny winter wedding...Neither of them were that fussed about making a big deal about it.”

Neither celebs have confirmed the news at the time of publication.

The pair were engaged a year before their wedding. Sheeran took to Instagram on January 20, 2018 to announce he popped the question. "Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx," he wrote at the time.

The very private couple haven't shared many details about their relationship, but in 2017 he did reveal to People how he connected with his high school sweetheart thanks to Taylor Swift.

“I’ve known Cherry since I was 11,” the “Shape of You” singer said. “She worked on Wall Street in New York, and I had like six shows [around New York in 2015]. It was around then, and we reconnected. I went on tour again, and then I went to Taylor’s 4th of July party. I was texting [Seaborn], and she was like, ‘I’m in Rhode Island at a 4th of July party,’ and I was like, ‘So am I.’ I kinda said to Taylor, ‘Can I invite one of my old schoolmates?’ The rest is history.”

Sheeran and Seaborn also devised a clever plan to keep fans and the media from knowing exactly when they tied the knot: Sheeran has been wearing a homemade engagement ring for months. “We were both kind of wearing rings. It also means that nobody will know when we have got married,” the singer admitted to an Australian radio station last year.
