Veronica Katherine Minor, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Private Family Service: Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Veronica was born Feb. 23, 1934, the daughter of John and Frances (Carney) Ryan, in Stuart, Iowa. On Aug. 18, 1954, she married Merle Franklin Minor. He passed away in March of 2017. Veronica worked on the assembly line for Farmstead Foods from 1969 to 1989 until her retirement.
She had several hobbies including knitting and crocheting. Veronica was self-taught in her skill and took pleasure in making hot pads and doilies for her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time in her flower garden. Veronica was an excellent cook and loved family gatherings. Having meals together was very important to her.
Survivors include her five children, Jacqueline (Douglas) Stealey, Donna (Steven) Kent, Richard Minor, Michael Minor and Mildred Mills; 12 grandchildren, Scott (Kerri) Kent, Amanda Minor, Daniel (Diana) Kent, Eric (Wendi) Minor, Adrienne Mills, Alex Minor, Nicholas Stealey, James Kness, Kimberly Jo Mills, Brad Kness, Megan Stealey and Mitchell Kent; 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Agnes Holmes.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Laree Minor; grandson, Austin Kness; parents; three sisters; and three brothers.
Veronica's heart's desire was for her loved ones to know the Lord. John 3:16
