1

Cannery Pier Hotel

Astoria, Oregon Coast, Oregon, United States

Cannery Pier Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel that sits practically on top of the Columbia River; it's literally built 600 feet out into the water on top of the pilings of the old Union Fish Cannery. With outstanding views (rooms look directly out onto the river) and upscale amenities, the hotel is a good choice for the high-end traveler who doesn't mind that it's located a bit more than a mile from the center of Astoria. It's a better choice for couples than families, as there's plenty of romantic touches inside the guest rooms -- like gas fireplaces -- and in common spaces  -- like a nightly wine reception -- geared towards adults. There's an on-site spa, fitness center, free Wi-Fi, complimentary daily breakfast, and two classic cars that shuttle guests around the area -- but no restaurant on-site.

2

Cannon Beach Hotel

Cannon Beach, Oregon Coast, Oregon, United States

The charming, upper-middle-range Cannon Beach Hotel is located on Hemlock Street, the quaint beach town's main thoroughfare. All 10 rooms are elegant, with Edwardian-style decor, and some have four-poster beds, fireplaces, and clawfoot tubs. Although amenities are limited at this tiny boutique property, there's an excellent on-site cafe with a breakfast service (only for hotel guests) and all guests get free access to nearby Cannon Beach Fitness, open 24-hours daily.

3

Beachfront Manor Hotel

Lincoln City, Oregon Coast, Oregon, United States

The 30-unit Beachfront Manor Hotel is a serene, three-pearl hillside property on a sparsely occupied stretch of sand with unobstructed Pacific Ocean views. Rose petals and chocolates on the beds add a touch of romance to rooms and suites, many of which come with fireplaces, balconies with ocean views, microwaves, and mini-fridges. Some units also have hot tubs on the decks. The sister hotel -- where check-ins are facilitated -- offers laundry facilities, but neither property has a restaurant.

4

Shearwater Inn

Lincoln City, Oregon Coast, Oregon, United States

Shearwater Inn is a subtly elegant upper-middle-range hotel in central Lincoln City, an easy walk to the beach (although another hotel partially blocks some ocean views). There are a nice outdoor hot tub, a business center, a nightly wine hour, and dog welcome baskets; in addition, breakfast trays are delivered to rooms every morning. The 30 rooms are stylish and come with flat-screen TVs, fireplaces, and ocean views -- some also have small balconies and whirlpool tubs. One- and Two-Bedroom Suites offer kitchens and living rooms. Early risers should know that the lobby, with coffee and tea, is not 24-hour.

5

Sandcastle Beachfront Motel

Lincoln City, Oregon Coast, Oregon, United States

The two-pearl Sandcastle Beachfront Motel offers direct beach access and 40 of the most inexpensive oceanfront rooms in Lincoln City. Rooms are dated and lack air-conditioning, but they’re clean and comfy and have flat-screen TVs. Some also have kitchens, fireplaces, oceanfront balconies, and whirlpool tubs. There's also a large indoor pool and a hot tub with ocean views.

6

The Coho Oceanfront Lodge

Lincoln City, Oregon Coast, Oregon, United States

The three-pearl Coho Oceanfront Lodge is a low-key, 65-room resort overlooking the beach. Features include ocean-facing fire pits surrounded by Adirondack chairs, weekly wine tastings, movie rentals, cookies in the lobby, and in-room massages. There are also a breakfast cafe, hot tub, sauna, gym, and an indoor pool that’s for adults only at night. Most units offer oceanfront balconies, and some have kitchenettes, fireplaces, and/or bunk beds for kids. Although the property looks out over the beach, it's perched on a cliff and beach access is one block away.

7

Paradise Suites

Seaside, Oregon Coast, Oregon, United States

Travelers looking for a midrange getaway sans kids will appreciate the no-children policy at the four-room Weiss' Paradise Suites. Tucked away from the bustle of Seaside in a residential part of town, but only three blocks from the beach and about a half-mile from the main drag on Broadway, the property has a convenient location and zero features. Though the suites have a homey vibe, up to three bedrooms, and full kitchens, the hotel has a few elements that make it look like a throwback to another era, like wood paneling on the walls, tropical fish pattern bedspreads, and a vast collection of tapes to be played on the in-room VCRs.

8

Schooner’s Cove Inn

Cannon Beach, Oregon Coast, Oregon, United States

The 30-room Schooner's Cove Inn has arguably the best location in Cannon Beach. It's situated on a wide stretch of sandy beach just a block from the town's main drag of shopping and dining on South Hemlock Street. Nearly every room has a full kitchen and view of the Pacific Ocean -- many have gas fireplaces. A good upper-mid-range choice for both couples and families, the nautically-themed property has has free (spotty) Wi-Fi, an ocean-facing indoor hot tub, and a grassy beach front lawn with barbecues and picnic tables for guest use. There's no restaurant on-site.
