Desperate times call for desperate measure. This is true for Blossom star Joey Lawrence and his wife who had to sell clothes prior to filing for bankruptcy.

Lawrence and wife, Chandie, found it harder and harder to keep afloat after 2015, the time when things took a turnaround for them. They filed for bankruptcy in July 2017, after amassing more than $355,000 in liabilities.

Their assets totaled $43,907.32. However, his liabilities ballooned because of debts in credit card ($132,000), back taxes ($88,000), and unpaid rent ($54,000) among many others.

After Lawrence enjoyed four seasons in Melissa & Joey in ABC in 2015, his financial downfall started. While he earned $534,000 in 2015, he only made a meek $58,000 the following year.

According to the documents, Lawrence and Chandie admitted to only having $60 cash and $8,000 in bank. The former was listed as an actor while the latter as unemployed. The 41-year-old actor noted he would make money in future acting stints.

Some of their expenses in a month listed are: $13,500 rent, $2,400 on food and other supplies, $2,846 for two cars lease, and $1,000 for entertainment.

So every month, they accumulate $25,505.35, clearly, their expenses exceeded their monthly income of $6,966. Of this income, Lawrence makes $4,166 while the rest are residuals. With this, they left off an $18,539.35-debt each month.

Lawrence also listed three cars that were repossessed, a Bentley, BMW i8, and a Ford Flex. Veritas Inc., the actor's loan-out company, was bought for $56,000 this year, meaning residuals from his works before the bankruptcy are to be collected by the buyer.

Selling Of Items

Before filing for bankruptcy, the couple had to resort into selling their stuff. They made $463 on eBay for selling wallets and purses. They also sold second-hand clothes to Buffalo Exchange for $4,325.10, and $1,836.70 for furniture sold to another shop.

During this tough time, it is especially inevitable to do whatever it takes to earn money. Lawrence and Chandie wed in 2005 and has two children, Charli and Liberty.

Blossom Reboot

Late last year, Lawrence hinted of a Blossom reboot, which was popular during the 90s. In an interview with Steve Harvey, he admitted there were talks about the show that spanned for five years. But of his financial struggles, the actor did not mention about this.

The series starred Mayim Bialik, Jenna von Oy, and Michael Stoyanov. During the guest stint, Lawrence talked about how his character Joey Russo would be like if a reboot would indeed materialize.

"Maybe his career is over, right? Mid- to late-30s. And, he's gotta find something else to do with his life," Lawrence said of Joey.
