This week, it’s the Bardavon 1869 Opera House in Poughkeepsie.

For starters, the UPAC box office is set to open Tuesday following a $5.4 million renovation of the theater that began in May. The first UPAC performance held in the wake of the renovations will be “A Christmas Carol,” presented by the Ulster Ballet Company on Dec. 1.

The construction project is bringing to UPAC a new electrical system; expanded bathrooms; new heating-ventilation-air conditioning system; roof and drainage repairs; and an upgrade of the backstage and administrative areas.
