CPD: Missing 62-year-old man found dead in Orangeburg

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A Columbia man who was reported missing last week was found dead in Orangeburg County over the weekend, according to Columbia Police.

The Orangeburg County Coroner identified John Hewett, 62.

Officers say John Hewett was reported missing on Thursday by his family when he didn’t return home from work. He was last seen at his home on Gadsden Street.

The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, but says they do not believe his death is suspicious and no foul play is suspected.
