The Hostess City is known for its food with a number of staples leading the way for the "best place to eat" when people come to visit. But if you're looking to walk off the beaten path, Savannah also has a number of new places that Yelp users have found to be great spots for a bite.

Fox & Fig

The Fox family is well-known in Savannah with The Coffee Fox and Foxy Loxy, but their latest establishment opened to rave reviews late last year. The restaurant specializes in plant-based foods and offers a host of coffee options.

Meredith M. from Rehoboth, Mass., said she was "very impressed" by Fox & Fig, saying that next time she was in Savannah, she would "definitely make my way back (to Fox & Fig)." Nicole A. from Miami, Fla., said to "stop what you are doing, and plan a day for this plant-based restaurant," adding that "the food is utterly delicious" and the place would be "my weekly spot" if she lived in Savannah.

NaaN on Broughton

The contemporary Indian restaurant opened a few weeks back and has already found a fan in City Talk columnist Bill Dawers. The restaurant sits right across the street from the Marshall House on Broughton Street, joining the large number of hot spots on the shopping street.

Shaye E. from Midland, Ga., said NaaN has "great atmosphere and amaing food" that is "full of flavor and great spices." Mike W. from Savannah was a little less impressed, saying "the portions could be larger," but thinks there is "enough diversity on the menu to qualify as a bona fide option."

Husk Savannah

The Southern eatery has become the talk of the town since opening recently and was called "another jewel to Savannah culinary scene" when it was announced that the restaurant would be coming to the Hostess City.

Morgan B. from Gainesville, Fla., seems to agree, saying she stopped in for dinner while on a road trip and "can't imagine anything here being less than amazing." Michelle R. from Savannah said the restaurant is "just about everything that I expected" and Husk is a "perfect addition to the area."

Andes Rotisserie

This Peruvian establishment is the only one of this list that falls outside Savannah, but according to many of the Yelp reviews, it is worth making the quick drive out to Bluffton to try it.

Michael M. from Charleston, S.C., said he visited the restaurant when he was working nearby because of his love for the establishment and recommended the garlic aioli with chicken and potatoes as well as the porcheta sandwich. Glenda G. from Winchester, Va., called Andes an "amazing place" with the "best soup and chicken we have had." Ramel B. from Bluffton said his "only wish (was) there were more stars to give."
