Ted Alexandro and April Macie will replace two comics pulling out of LaughFest

GRAND RAPIDS,MI – Ticket-holders for Nick Thune and Colin Kane's LaughFest appearances won’t see either of the comedians at this year's festival.

Due to scheduling conflicts, Thune and Kane have been replaced in LaughFest's 2014 comedy lineup.

Nick Thune, who was scheduled to appear with Todd Barry and Rory Scovel on March 7-8 at the Pyramid Scheme, has been picked up for a TV pilot and will be unable to appear due to filming schedule conflicts. He also will withdraw from the SXSW Festival.

Thune expressed his regrets and desire to be asked back to the festival in a release Tuesday, March 4.

"I’m really disappointed to have to pull out of my shows at two major festivals,” said Thune. “I was really looking forward to my appearances at both – and hope that they will ask me back to perform another year.

"Todd Barry and Rory Scovel are incredible comics, and friends of mine, and they will put on a great show for Grand Rapids,” he added.

Thune will be replaced by Ted Alexandro, the comedian behind a new web series set to premiere later this month called "Teachers Lounge." It features fellow LaughFest comedians Lewis Black and Judah Friedlander, among others.

Kane was originally scheduled to perform with Brad Williams on March 11 at the Orbit Room. He also has an undisclosed conflict related to TV, according to festival organizers.

He will be replaced by April Macie, a 2006 finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.”

“We understand how hectic production schedules can get and wish both Nick and Colin the best with their television endeavors,” said festival director Joanne Roehm in a statement. “We’re pleased that with such short notice we’ve been able to get two stellar performers to take their places.”

Ticketmaster will offer refunds if desired, according to festival officials.
