The Garrett Sands Kindness Project has made it’s way to West Terre Haute.

The Kindness Project was founded by Garrett Sands’ mother, Jayna Sullivan, as a way to heal after the loss of her son.

Sullivan uses these acts of kindness to spread joy to those in her community.

Early Tuesday morning Sullivan along with her mother and some excited women from Happiness Bag stood outside the West Terre Haute IGA handing out carnations.

“I think it’s a wonderful thing for these gals behind me to get to do because I’ve already seen how much happiness it’s already brought them. And they’ve already received happy hugs and that’s what we need is more happiness,” said Sullivan.

The carnations were donated by the Poplar Flower shop, and each one was tied with a kindness card.

Sullivan encourages those in and around the community to consider giving instead of taking, “It’s all about acts of kindness and we can do those anywhere. So I hope that they learn more about Garrett, learn more about the Kindness Project and what we’re doing. And just pay it back, take the happiness card that we have with the flowers and maybe do an act of kindness for another person”.
