"We need to impeach Trump and clean up Congress, get rid of Mitch McConnell. Anything Trump is doing, their agenda, I'm against it."

Virigina Spears (L), Kathryn Lupfer (R), and Chloe (age 8)
Residence: Port Orchard
Occupations: federal employee (Spears), student (Lupfer)

"I want to see the budget balanced," Spears said. "We need to stop doing everything on a credit card, like the tax breaks. It just adds to the deficit."

"I want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem, so anything I can do to support that. That's why I'm here," Lupfer said.

Sandra Olson (L) and Renee Tobin (R)
Residences: Edmonds (Olson), Gold Bar (Tobin)
Occupations: Retired (Olson), farrier (Tobin)

"The money needs to be taken out of politics," Tobin said. "We can't have special interest groups controlling the country anymore."

"Affordable healthcare. It's way at the top for me," Olson said. "It's a complex issue and it's going to take a lot of work."

Liv Miller (R) and Aiden Toome (L)
Residence: Redmond
Occupations: Students at Lake Washington High School

"I'm passionate about trans rights," Miller said. "Donald Trump repealed protections on trans students."

"Trans rights. It's impacted my life because personally I feel less safe at school," Toome said. Toome

Lisa (L), Mona (R), Nikki (C) (declined to provide last names)
Residences: Kent (Lisa), SeaTac (Mona), Renton (Nikki)
Occupations: business analyst (Lisa), King County worker (Nikki)

"Seattle is doing nothing about affordable housing," Lisa said. "[Political leaders] need to do more because it's a huge problem."

"What are we going to do for the homeless?" Mona wondered (she volunteers at the Salvation Army). "They need someplace dry and warm, and they need better access to social services."

"Along with homelessness, we need to see action on racism," Nikki said. "It's time to stand up."
