24-year-old arrested in Dunn County for OWI with minor in the vehicle

A 24-year-old man was arrested in Menomonie for an OWI with a minor in the vehicle.

Robert Smith Harris, 24, of Waltham, MA was driving in the city of Menomonie just after midnight on Sunday morning, when a WI State Patrol Trooper attempted to make a traffic stop for speeding.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says the driver did not pull over and a pursuit occurred, with speeds ranging from 15 to 47 m.p.h. The vehicle stopped at every intersection and signaled all turns before finally puling into an apartment complex parking lot after about 3 miles.

The 24-year-old man was taken into custody without incident by the Trooper and Menomonie Police Officers.

The 11-year-old passenger in the vehicle was turned over to his mother.

The 24-year-old driver was charged with Fleeing, OWI with a minor in the vehicle (1st offense), speeding, open intoxicants and possession of drug paraphernalia.
