SS Kumaran directs a short film on COVID-19 awareness
Popular music composer SS Kumaran, who has worked on several films, including Poo, Kalavani and Pattathari, has come up with a new work. The composer, who turned director with Theneer Viduthi, has come up with a short film to create awareness about COVID-19 pandemic.
A source says, “Kumaran’s short, No Corona Movement, stresses on the importance of wearing a mask in public spaces. In the awareness film, he has explained why it’s important for everyone, be it someone who is walking on the road, is riding a vehicle, or a homeless person, to wear a mask and stay protected.
He has collaborated with Sai Village Trust for this short, which was launched by Suhasini Maniatnam and Kaali Venkat, among others.”
The source adds, “Kumaran followed all the guidelines laid down by the government to shoot the film. He wanted to drive home the point that if a person doesn’t take self-protection seriously in times of the pandemic, and doesn’t follow basic protocols and guidelines like wearing a mask, sanitizing, and maintaining social distance, then it will affect not just him but also his family, friends, and everyone around him. The video has gotten over 10 lakh views.”
