Visitors to Stoke Park's Always The Sun festival were in for a musical treat on day one, despite the miserable weather threatening to put a downer on proceedings.

First day festival-goers enjoyed sets from the likes of of Vinyl Staircase, Bryony Dunn, Trudy & the Romance and Idles, crowned by a headline performance from The Strypes.

And while the gloomy skies always looked ready to turn into another furious downpour, those who braved the weather on Friday (September 8) were treated to fine performances all round.

Luckily, our photographers were on hand to capture fantastic sets from those performers.

And take a look at the video (see above) for some quick snippets from just some of the artists highlighting the huge variety of music on offer to those who turned out.

The cracking line-up continues on Saturday (September 9) with performances from Public Service Broadcasting, Gengahr, Inheaven and Traams set to wow the crowds.

While Sunday (September 10) will include sets from Lucy Rose, Honeyblood and Tall Ships. We can't wait.
