Virginia Tech's first selection in the 2017 NFL Draft was a surprising one: safety Chuck Clark opened the sixth round with a pick from the Baltimore Ravens.

Clark was a three-star who picked the Hokies over UVa in the 2013 class. He was a four-year contributor in Blacksburg, and an honorable mention all-conference performer as a senior.
Clark finished with 292 career tackles, 14.0 for loss, 2.5 sacks, and two interceptions.
He goes to a Ravens team with a long history of success at the safety position - and on defense as a whole - and should have a chance to stick. Baltimore has few true safeties on the roster, presenting a serious opportunity for Clark.
