FSU is riding a seven game win streak in their series with the Miami Hurricanes – and one super fan of what used to be “The U” is not happy.

If you are a fan of FSU football, it’s been fun the last seven times the Seminoles have played the longtime rival Miami Hurricanes. The current win streak is tied for the longest ever in the series that dates back to 1951 – a record Florida Stat can break with a win on September 16th in Tallahassee.

If you’re a fan of the ‘Canes, well you are at a loss to figure out why you can’t beat the one longtime rival who will still play Miami each season. It’s especially painful for Hurricane fans since the last three games have been wins by the Noles by a combined 10 points – all of which saw Miami take leads into the second half.

Some fans of the Coral Gables school are taking it in stride…some are living in the past and talking about national titles last won when the incoming recruiting class was barely two years old…and then, there is Luther Campbell.

Oh, yes – Uncle Luke is letting it be known that he is not happy about things with the Hurricanes football program – his column in the Miami New Times that we wrote about last week saying FAU has a better coaching staff, for example – and made the rounds on sports radio in South Florida and across the country defending his position.

On Twitter, the former lead singer of 2 Live Crew made it clear that one of the main things making him furious is that fact his ‘Canes haven’t beaten FSU since the first year of former President Obama’s first term (WARNING: some NSFW language):

Campbell also went in on Miami fans who criticized him over his comments, telling those who don’t pay money to attend games that they can go…well, do something behind closed doors to themselves.

Look, kudos goes out to Campbell for being a devoted fan of his school. As much as we rag on him and Miami, Uncle Luke has been there through the good times and the bad – just ask the NCAA. You can understand him being frustrated as the Hurricanes are now on their third straight coach in a losing streak to their biggest rival – especially with three straight games they could have won.

That being said, Luke Skywalker – too much salt can be bad for you, my friend. The day will come, as much as I don’t want to admit it, that Miami will beat FSU on the football field again…let’s just hope it’s at least another seven years from now.

A victory by Florida State this season will also make for another piece of history in the series – as the Seminoles will then be tied with Miami in the all-time series at 31 wins a piece. It would be the closest FSU has gotten in the series since it was tied at 14 wins a piece following the 1974 game. The Seminoles have closed what was a nine game deficit gap by going 10-2 over the last 12 games in the series.
