The M11 has been completely closed in both directions at Bishop's Stortford to recover a lorry that was blown over by high winds.

Essex Police have closed the road between junction 8 to junction 10 so that recovery can occur.

The lorry overturned northbound near to junction 9, close to Saffron Walden.

There have been long delays on the road all morning because of the lorry that was blown over at around 6am this morning.

Delays of up to 90 minutes were predicted before the road was closed and it is likely that there will be long delays as a result of the road closure.

Highways England tweeted: "The M11 is now closed northbound between J8 A120 Stansted and J9 A11 due to an overturned lorry.

"Road is closed to allow recovery of the vehicle to take place, long delays expected."
