A barely conscious man with an alleged blood-alcohol reading more than six times the legal limit was pulled over by police last Wednesday morning.

A police spokeswoman claimed the 51-year-old Kelmscott man had alcoholic drinks on the front seat of his Holden Commodore when he was pulled over in Roleystone at 10.50am on Wednesday, March 13.

"When stopped, the driver was barely conscious and the roadside test was too high for the machine," she said.

"It appeared he’d stocked the front seat of his party bus so he’d never run out.

"His initial reading was 0.338 per cent calculated to be 0.307 per cent grams of alcohol per 100ml of litres of breath at the time of occurrence."

The man has been charged with drink driving and is due to front Armadale Magistrates Court on June 25.
