Englewood Cliffs Company Gets $20K Grant From Pepsi

The grant could increase to $100,000 if Remedy Organic, which makes organic, plant-based beverages, beats out 9 other startups.

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ — A borough business has received a $20,000 grant from Pepsi and could win a $100,000 grant next year.

Remedy Organics was one of 10 startups in the United States in PepsiCo.'s Nutrition Greenhouse North America competition. It is the first collaborative program of its kind the company has offered.

Experts from PepsiCo.'s most successful brands will mentor Remedy Organics and the other nine companies for six months. They will collaborate on things like, marketing, packaging, fundraising, and supply chain management.

One company will receive an additional $100,000 and the chance to continue working with PepsiCo. based on its progress and use of the $20,000 grant.

Remedy Organics makes plant-based, organic beverages made with super foods, herbs, and probiotics. Cindy Kasindorf, a nutritional health counselor, founded the company.

"We are focused on disrupting the food and beverage industry by bringing delicious functional nutrition to mainstream channels in a manner that has never been done before," Kasindorf said in a statement. "We applied to the PepsiCo Nutrition Greenhouse because we believe the knowledge and mentorship that we can receive from the brightest minds in the beverage industry will be pivotal for our brand and allow us to accelerate our growth."
