Davis Medical Center to host cardiac health forum

Davis Medical Center is offering a free educational forum on cardiac health this Thursday.

Officials say guests at the forum will be able to learn about heart disease and it's risk factors, as well as diet, medications, and more.

Panelists include Amanda Smith, RPh; dietitian Sonya Phares, RD; Debbie Williams, RN and Becky Piehler, RN, and Mindy Parsons, RN. The programs will also feature a clinical provider from the West Virginia University.

The event will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Healthy snacks and free take-home information will be provided. Officials say reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling the Cardiac Rehab Center at 304-637-3623.

February is American Heart Month. Heart disease is currently the number 1 killer of women.
