DADEVILLE, AL (WSFA) - A woman is in stable condition on Friday after her Toyota Camry collided with a commercial vehicle on U.S. Highway 280 in Dadeville, police said.

Police said that wet road conditions caused by heavy rainfall may have played a part in the accident.

The woman was trapped inside her Camry, police said, adding that a tow truck was called in to pull the commercial vehicle off the Camry so the woman could be removed from her car.

Emergency personnel calmed the woman until she could be rescued from her car, police said.

She was taken by ambulance to East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

“The Dadeville Police Department appreciates the efforts of all agencies involved to come to a safe, well-organized and successful extrication effort in this crash incident,” said Dadeville Assistant Police Chief Lt. Christopher R. Martin.

The investigation of the crash is ongoing, Martin said.
