Elementary students explore career in broadcast journalism at WILX

Some students in Mid-Michigan got a first hand look at life as a TV news anchor and reporter.

A career day was held at Oakwood Elementary School in Portland.

The schools is home to DK students through second grade.

News 10's Clayton Cummins talked to students about how News 10 works to be your breaking news and weather authority.

Students got the chance to get in front of the camera and try anchoring for themselves along with getting a look inside the WILX live truck.

HomeWorks Tri-County Electric Cooperative and Maria's Tacos were among the many businesses taking part in career day.
