The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl may have a new look and time, but true football fans also will notice the added importance that the Dec. 31 tilt at the Georgia Dome has in the college football world this year as part of the top tier of bowl games.

The No. 9 ranked Ole Miss Rebels will take on the No. 6 TCU Horned Frogs at 12:30 p.m. New Year’s Eve. And, in 2016, the bowl will play host to its first College Football Playoff semifinal (No. 1 vs. No. 4 or No. 2 vs. No. 3). All the “New Year’s Six” games will be televised on ESPN.

“We consider it a privilege to host the first New Year’s Six bowl game, and we couldn’t think of a better matchup to kick off this new era of post-season college football than the Rebels and Horned Frogs,” said Gary Stokan, Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl president and CEO. “This is a power-packed game of Top 10 teams.”

Tickets are still available at chick-fil-apeachbowl.com or ticketmaster.com. The game has sold out 17 straight years.

The game is Wednesday afternoon, but the fun and activities begin in earnest Monday. Note that some events require a ticket.
