Thousands of homes are reportedly without power in the Ellon area.
A power cut has affected about 1,200 homes in the AB41 area.
SSE engineers are working to repair the fault and the company is reporting on its website that electricity will not be restored until 5pm at the earliest.
UPDATE: Power has been restored in many homes but 564 remain without electricity.
