TROY, MI - President Donald Trump's former campaign manager dropped out of his scheduled appearance in Troy on Friday, June 22.

Corey Lewandowski planned to speak with Fox News guest speakers Diamond and Silk at the American Polish Cultural Center during a 2018 Kick Off Tour, hosted by Michigan Trump Republicans.

However, Lewandowski was asked to join Trump on Air Force One to head to a Trump rally on Friday night, organizers said.

Lewandowski served on Trump's staff when he earned the Republican nomination  and recently joined Vice President Mike Pence's Great America PAC. He also wrote the book "Let Trump Be Trump."

Diamond and Silk are sisters known for their pro-Trump social media videos. The two claim they switched from Democrats to Republicans when Trump announced his candidacy in 2015.

Lewandowski recently was criticized for his response to former Democratic National Committee adviser Zac Petkanas sharing a story about a 10-year-old girl with Down Syndrome who was taken from her mother after crossing the border, CNN reports.

However, Lewandowksi said in a tweet that he was mocking a liberal "who attempted to politicize children" instead of discussing the immigration system.
