Piers Morgan claims Susanna Reid and new boyfriend Steve Parish are ‘perfectly-suited’ as he spills the beans on boozy party in New York

PIERS Morgan claims his Good Morning Britain co-star Susanna Reid and her new boyfriend Steve Parish are "perfectly-suited".
In his column for The Mail On Sunday's Event magazine, the 53-year-old telly star revealed how Susanna and Steve got along famously at a drinks party to celebrate GMB's presidential election coverage in New York two years ago.
Crystal Palace fan Susanna included Steve and then Palace manager Alan Pardew on the guestlist, giving Piers a firsthand look at the chemistry between them.
He wrote: "Guests included Frank and Christine Lampard, Richard Bacon and his wife Rebecca, and my eldest son Spencer.
'Do you mind if Steve Parish joins us with Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew?' asked Susanna, a massive Palace fan. 'I know them through the club and they happen to be in town.'
"So they came along too and we had a hilariously drunken night during which two things became crystal clear: 1) Steve's a very smart, funny and entertaining guy. 2) He was an even bigger fan of Susanna's then she is of Crystal Palace. 'You two are perfectly suited,' I teased her afterwards.
"'Don't be ridiculous,' she retorted. Susanna's undisguised happiness at how things have now turned out is slightly tempered by the knowledge that once again, I was right."
Piers couldn't help but add that he and Steve share a number of character traits, suggesting he is also Susanna's type.
The two-month romance, as revealed by The Sun On Sunday, is her first since the end of her 16-year relationship with Dominic Cotton — dad of her three teenaged sons.
Divorced Steve, 53, has two grown-up daughters and is worth an estimated £45million.
A friend said: “Susanna and Steve are exclusively dating.
“It’s extremely early days but they’re having a lot of fun.
“They have known each other for several years through their connections to Palace.
“Over the summer they started hanging out more and fell for each other.

"They have a real chemistry, a wicked sense of humour and both are real family people.
“Plus, of course, they share a love of the Eagles.”
Susanna sat two seats from Steve when Palace won 2-0 at Fulham on August 11 — weeks before they officially got together.
