A case of road rage that left two people injured has the Florida Highway Patrol on a manhunt for the driver who shot them.
A black Jetta and a silver Nissan, with two adults and a child inside, were northbound on Interstate 95 through Hallandale Beach when the Nissan made an improper lane change in front of the Jetta around 2 p.m. Wednesday, the FHP said.
The Jetta pulled up alongside the Nissan and the Jetta’s driver fired several shots at the passenger side of the Nissan.
A 35-year-old man in the front passenger seat was shot twice in the right torso, and the 42-year-old woman who was driving the Nissan was grazed on the right side of her face. A 12-year-old boy in the back seat was unharmed, investigators said.
After the gunfire, the man driving the Jetta sped away and exited off I-95 at Pembroke Road and headed east.
The Nissan also exited at Pembroke Road then continued west to Memorial Regional Hospital South. The man and woman were treated for their injuries and are in stable condition, the FHP said.
The Bureau of Crime Investigation and Intelligence is investigating in conjunction with the FHP.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact Broward Crime Stoppers anonymously at 954-493-8477 or online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
