Walton Sheriff: Hard-Boiled Egg Stolen in Home Burglary, IRS Scam, Deer-Stand Thefts

CRIME AWARENESS/COMMUNITY INFORMATION ALERT

Activity date: November 20, 2014 – November 23, 2014

Zone 1
Theft – Two chainsaws were taken from a residence on Jersey Walnut Grove Rd.

Safety Checkpoint – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check near Walnut Grove Elementary School on Hwy 81. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrests were made during the safety check.

Arrest – Kevin Gould was arrested at Oxford Shell Station for DUI.

Safety Checkpoint – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy 138 @ Forester Cemetery Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrests were made during the safety check.

Vehicle Accident – An abandoned vehicle was found in the wood line on Forester Cemetery Rd. The vehicle had been in an accident involving a tree. Walton County deputies were unable to contact the owner. The vehicle was towed away from the location.

Zone 4
Arrest – Kieren Aaron was arrested on Parker Drive in reference to Criminal Trespass.

Zone 5
Harassing Phone Calls – Numerous phone calls were made to a residence on Bay Creek Rd., claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service.

Burglary – A white male subject entered a residence on Piney Grove Rd. and took a hardboiled egg, two sodas and some ice cream.

Theft – A deer stand was taken from a location on Rockmore Rd.

Theft – Three deer stands were reportedly taken from a location on South Crosslane Rd.

Extra Patrol – Numerous trucks were reportedly mud-bogging on the shoulder of Rockmore Rd.

Arrest – Cody Garner was arrested for an outstanding warrant following a dispute on Piney Grove Rd.

Vehicle Accident – A tractor trailer ran off the roadway on GA 10 West near Troy Smith Rd. The truck knocked over a power pole.

Burglary – A residence was burglarized on Hwy 81 in the Royal Mobile Home Park. Several items were taken from the residence.

Safety Checkpoint – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy 81 at Bold Springs Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. Matthew Ginney was charged with Possession of Marijuana with intent, Possession of Marijuana more than an ounce, Possession of schedule III, Possession of schedule IV, and Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Extra Patrol – A noise was heard outside of a residence on Brockington Creek Pass in the St. Martins Estates. Extra Patrol was requested.

Entering Auto – Two unlocked vehicles were entered on Highlands Blvd. in the Highlands subdivision. A wallet, cash and other items were taken.

Zone 6
Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Anslee Circle in the Anslee Lakes subdivision Rd. All windows and doors appeared secure.

Zone 7
Theft – A red Yamaha Big Bear 200 was reported missing from a residence on Wagon Trail.

Shoplifting – Two black male subjects were observed taking food items from Mystic Mart on Walnut Avenue.

Stolen Vehicle – A red 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass was taken from a business on Old Highway 138.

Burglary – Tools were taken from a vacant property on Greenhill Way.

Suspicious Person – Subjects were reportedly ringing the doorbell at a residence on Spring Court then running off.

Extra Patrol – Suspicious activity was reported at a residence on Scout Hill Drive. Extra patrol was requested.

County-wide Safety Checkpoint
Walton County deputies conducted a county-wide safety check on Bold Springs Rd., Whitney Rd. and Charlotte Rowell Blvd., which resulted in a total of 5 arrests.
