A New Jersey woman bought chickens to eat the ticks that gave her sons Lyme disease, even though it's against Bridgeton city law to have farm animals as pets.

It's bringing on a chicken fight between Jamie Warner and the Bridgeton city council.

After her sons contracted Lyme disease playing in the backyard, Warner asked people on chicken forums whether or not chickens would eat the ticks so she wouldn't have to spray her backyard, reports NBC 40.

"A lot of people were like, oh chickens will eat anything," as Warner explained to the TV station.

Councilman Mike Zapolski told The Associated Press that the issue is being researched by lawmakers, but they are hesitant on changing the law because they are afraid it will create more problems throughout the rest of the city.

"They're helping keep my family safe and I feel like how can that possibly be bad?" Warner asks NBC 40.

The council president may decide to form a committee to help explore the issue further, reports NBC 40.
