'Sometimes when you lose you really win!' Donnie Wahlberg shares loved-up snap with fiancee Jenny McCarthy after losing Creative Arts Emmy

His show the Wahlburgers missed out on a Creative Arts Emmy on Saturday.

But that was no big deal to Donnie Wahlberg, who took to Twitter immediately after the ceremony to post a sweet loved-up photo of he and his fiancee Jenny McCarthy and tell the world that he didn't care about winning as long as he had her.

The 44-year-old had just lost out to Deadliest Catch in the awards race, but the love in his eyes made it clear he wasn't bothered.

'Sometimes when you lose you really win!' wrote the former New Kids On The Block star, adding the hashtag: #LifeIsGreat'

And so it was, because the woman he was holding hands with on the streets of Downtown Los Angeles outside the Nokia Theatre was his 41-year-old blonde bombshell of a fiancee.

The former co-host of The View sports a big happy smile in the candid snap, showing off the engagement bling on her ring finger as she grips Donnie's hand.

Both Donnie and Jenny shared the image, showing that love conquers all - even losing Emmys.

The Wahlburgers had been nominated for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program, but they didn't take home the final prize.

The couple looked a treat on the red carpet on the way in, however, with Jenny stopping traffic in a figure-hugging deep green dress featuring a plunging lace neckline.

Donnie looked tidy himself in a crisp black suit, as he cuddled up to her.

'Congrats to my baby @DonnieWahlberg for @Wahlburgers Emmy nom today. So proud of you,' wrote Jenny on Twitter earlier in the day, as they prepared for the evening.

It seems all Donnie could focus on was her too, because his own pre-ceremony tweet was equally loved-up: 'Hanging backstage at #TheEmmys with the future Mrs! Sending love to my #BH's worldwide!'

It also happened to be the eve of the Boston born entertainer's 45th birthday, which falls on August 17.

The former Playboy Playmate has been flashing her giant engagement ring wherever she goes.

She has revealed that her enormous 10-carat yellow sapphire rock surrounded by nearly two carats of diamonds and an 18-karat white gold band.

Donnie and Jenny are planning an intimate wedding later this year.

He told Us Weekly: 'I'd like a small wedding. A perfect wedding for me would be Jenny, myself, and our three boys.'

Jenny added: 'It would be this year or next year. We like the idea of getting away on a vacation, but we also like the idea of keeping it local.'

When asked if they may elope, the blonde beauty replied: 'We haven't decided yet.'
