Derek Jeter rickrolls the world in first 'Players' Tribune' mailbag post

On Thursday, Derek Jeter introduced a new mailbag feature at The Players’ Tribune, the website he founded to allow athletes a direct means of communication with fans. Jeter himself took to the keyboard for the debut mailbag post, and weighed in on such pressing matters as his favorite video games, his thoughts on cilantro, and his favorite subjects in school.

Some of the answers are almost aggressively uninteresting: Jeter refuses to weigh in on the Meek Mill/Drake beef, says he’d choose invisibility as a superpower, and says the three items he’d take to a desert island would be food, water and a boat. But the longtime Yankee captain finished with a flourish in his response to a question about social media:

It’s definitely complicated. I haven’t been active on social media, but I actually just got a Twitter. Check it out.

Jeter, you dog! You’ve won again.

Between this and hustling the President of the United States of America in a golf match, Jeter’s starting to seem like he’s got a solid troll streak in him. It is welcome.
