Janet Leigh’s onetime Beverly Crest home (with shower) sells for $6.5 million
A Beverly Crest estate once home to film actress Janet Leigh and her fourth husband, Robert Brandt, has sold for $6.5 million.
Built in 1976, the 5,180-square-foot house sits behind gates with a swimming pool and spa, a lighted tennis court and an outdoor cabana. The more than half-acre setting takes in city and ocean views.

Newly remodeled interiors feature dark wood floors, a living room with a floor-to-ceiling rock wall and fireplace and a center-island kitchen. Among the eye-catching details is a formal dining room decked in red.
Four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms includes a master suite with a fireplace, his-and-hers closets and a shower that saw little use during Leigh’s ownership, according to co-listing agent Joyce Rey of Coldwell Banker.
“Although she lived in her estate for many years, she never used the shower again,” Rey said of Leigh, who is perhaps best remembered for her murder scene in the 1960 thriller “Psycho.” “I guess the actress was more impacted than the audience!”
Valerie Fitzgerald of the Valerie Fitzgerald Group, an affiliate of Coldwell Banker, shared the listing with Rey. Fitzgerald also represented the buyer in the sale.
Leigh, who died in 2004 at age 77, starred in “Touch of Evil” (1958) and “The Manchurian Candidate” (1962). She received an Oscar nomination for her role in “Psycho.”
