A Coto de Caza estate once owned by a high-profile music industry manager has sold for $4.6 million.

The 8,400-square-foot, Spanish-style house house was on and off the market for the past six years. In December 2014, the home was listed at $6.5 million. The price subsequently was dropped 13 times before the sale, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

Doc McGhee, who worked with Kiss, Mötley Crüe and Bon Jovi, bought the house at 31381 Trigo Trail in 1991. He sold it in 2007.

Listing agent John Evans of The Evans Group said he also represented McGhee when he bought the residence, and when he sold it 16 years later.

Calling the house “a popular weekend destination for legendary musicians,” Evans recalled running into Heather Locklear there. The actress happened to be married to two of McGhee’s clients, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and, later, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora.

Evans said the house was built in 1983 as a second home for a German count who lived in Argentina. He described the current seller as a billionaire hedge fund operator who lives and works overseas.

Set on a 2-acre lot in Coto’s gated Los Ranchos Estates, the six-bedroom property has been extensively remodeled.

Spanish pavers grace the airy hallway floors and arched doors and windows line the walls. The entry area includes his-and-her powder rooms.Upstairs, the master suite has a large, two-sided fireplace, seating area and terrace.

The suite overlooks the grounds, which include a loaded up loggia with an outdoor kitchen and bar, tennis court and an upgraded swimming pool, deck and spa with a small “cooling pool,” as well as separate guest quarters. Two horse corrals, shelters and a tack room were added more recently.

Carol Marie Dotson of The Evans Group represented the buyer.
