Days after the 2012 mass shooting that left 12 people dead at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, Dane Cook made light of the situation with a joke. "... if none of that would have happened, I'm pretty sure that somebody in that theater, about 25 minutes in, realizing it was a piece of crap, was probably like, 'Ugh, fucking shoot me,'" he said at Los Angeles' Laugh Factory in regard to the "The Dark Knight Rises." He later apologized on Twitter, writing, "I am devastated by the recent tragedy in Colorado & did not mean to make light of what happened. I made a bad judgment call with my material last night & regret making a joke at such a sensitive time. My heart goes out to all of the families & friends of the victims."

Rosie O'Donnell offered her version of an apology after she mocked an Asian accent during "The View." In a taping of the show, in which Danny DeVito appeared inebriated, she commented saying, "The fact is that it's news all over the world. That you know, you can imagine in China it's like: 'Ching chong. Danny DeVito, ching chong, chong, chong, chong. Drunk. The View. Ching chong.'" The comedian later said, "This apparently was very offensive to a lot of Asian people. So I asked Judy, who's Asian and works here in our hair and makeup department. I said, 'Was it offensive to you?' And she said, 'Well, kinda. When I was a kid people did tease me by saying ching-chong...So apparently 'ching-chong,' unbeknownst to me, is a very offensive way to make fun, quote-unquote, or mock, Asian accents.'

CNN has dumped another contributor for ridiculing President Trump.

Reza Aslan, who launched the high-minded non-fiction series “Believer” three months ago, was fired by the network after he slammed Trump as a “piece of s–t” among other criticisms on Twitter — days after Kathy Griffin was booted by CNN for her shocking photo of a beheaded Trump.

“CNN has decided to not move forward with production on the acquired series ‘Believer with Reza Aslan,’ ” the network said in a statement to Variety. “We wish Reza and his production team all the best.”

The ousting comes after Aslan condemned Trump on Twitter for using the recent terror attack in London to preach the need for his controversial travel ban.

Aslan, 45, expressed his disappointment over the ousting Friday afternoon on Twitter.

“Believer means a great deal to me and to the countless viewers it’s reached,” he said in a statement.

“Its message of religious tolerance of religious tolerance and exploration is extremely important right now. I am deeply grateful to CNN for giving me the opportunity to launch the show and to amplify my voice on their network.

“In these politically charged times, the tenor of our nation’s discourse has become complicated and I recognize that CNN need to protect its brand as an unbiased news outlet. Similarly, I need to honor my voice.”

He issued an apology for his remarks earlier in the week.

“I should have used better language to express my shock and frustration at the president’s lack of decorum and sympathy for the victims of London. I apologize for my choice of words,” he said.

Aslan’s “Believer” series followed him as he traveled around the world to experience different religions and their traditions. It lasted one season.

His firing comes less than two weeks after Griffin was relieved of her duties as a contributor to CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage alongside Anderson Cooper — a role she had held for a decade.

Griffin sparked major controversy last month when a photo of her posing with a bloody, decapitated Trump mask surfaced online.

She’s since apologized for the photo, but claimed in an emotional press conference last week that the Trump family is bullying her with their public remarks condemning the gory image.
