Tubman had yet to see the field this season, and was suspended in definitely by Kentucky coach Mark Stoops. He was scheduled to redshirt this season.
According to the arrest warrant, a woman that was an ex-girlfriend of Tubman was the victim. After initially refusing to see him, she signed Tubman into her dormitory room after he called up and said he was in the lobby.
Once in her room, he tried traditional advances to coax her into sex. When she refused his advances, that is when things took a turn for the worse and Tubman sexually assaulted her.
The woman called campus police immediately after he left the room. They came to her room and collected physical evidence, and sent her to the emergency room.
Tubman, a 20-year-old freshman from Seneca High School in Louisville, was a four star recruit. He chose to stay in Kentucky over other offers from Penn State, Nebraska, and his hometown school, the Louisville Cardinals.
Rape is a Class B felony in the state of Kentucky, and carries a minimum sentence of ten years in jail.
All five of the Kentucky players that have been suspended for Kentucky so far this year are freshmen. Three are in a redshirt season.
