HIGHLANDVILLE, Mo. — The weather should be perfect for anything outside this weekend, including Singletrack Mind, which is a three-day festival bringing out mountain bikers to Two Rivers Bike Park in Highlandville.

Record crowds are expected for another year.

It’s put on by Trailspring, a not-for-profit based in southwest Missouri.

Its mission is to install 30 miles of multi-purpose trails in the Ozarks in three years.

Two Rivers Park, located at the James River and Finley River Confluence is the first step in that process.

The 400-acre park is geared for levels of all ages.

The trails are maintained almost entirely by volunteers.

“I’ve traveled a lot around the country, and seen trails and organizations that have blossomed into huge community projects where the trail is the main economic driver,” Lori Livingston, with Trailspring, said. “We hoped that Two Rivers would be that for this community, and I think we are finally getting there.”

While there is no official word yet, plans are also being made on behalf of Trailspring to duplicate Two-Rivers on the north side of town and connect it in some way with the Ozark Greenways.
