DUBLIN, CA — A handful of Dougherty Elementary Schools students with a penchant for baking and a love of animals recently held a very successful bake sale fundraiser for the East Bay SPCA. The fourth-graders, who call themselves "Bakers for Pooches," set up shop in front of Unleased by Petco on Jan. 29 to sell their baked goods.

The cupcake and cookie purveyors raised about $160 to donate to the busy Dublin animal shelter. Unleased donated some dog toys to the cause.
