FAYETTEVILLE -- A Missouri man was sentenced to federal prison Thursday for selling methamphetamine.

Eliseo Alvarez Sr., 52, of Pineville, Mo., was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison, to run partially concurrent with a sentence previously ordered against him in the Eastern District of Arkansas, followed by five years of supervised release.

Alvarez was also ordered to pay a $4,900 fine on one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Homeland Security and the Drug Enforcement Administration identified Alvarez as a supplier for local meth dealers in May 2017, according to court records. Agents saw Alvarez meet with a known meth dealer and drop off a green-colored bag. After the meeting, agents arrested the dealer on a warrant. While searching his vehicle, agents found methamphetamine in the green bag, according to the documents.

Alvarez was indicted by a federal grand jury in October and pleaded guilty in January.

U.S. District Judge Timothy L. Brooks sentenced Alvarez.
