LLANGEFNI returned to winning ways with an emphatic 78-8 rout at WRU National League Division One North basement dwellers Colwyn Bay.

The visitors were in sensational form throughout a first half that saw them run in an eye-catching six tries, with prop Rhodri Owen helping himself to a hat-trick to put them in the ascendancy.

Dion Oliver, Iwan Humphreys and Rhys Hughes also managed to touch down during the period, with Hughes also hitting four conversions to give them a 38-point cushion at the break.

This same pattern of play resumed after the interval, which brought with it a further six scores through Rich Foulkes, Greg Horsman, Ian Parry, Sam Evans, Aaron Jeffries, while the unstoppable Owen crashed over yet again to take his tally for the afternoon to four.

Hughes continued his impressive form with the boot to hit five conversions and take his personal points tally to 23, but the Moniars face a far sterner test of their credentials this Saturday when they entertain current champions Pwllheli at Cae Smyrna.
