Sig Hansen’s Terrifying Heart Attack: How He’s Recovering After Being Hospitalized

Sheesh! Sig Hansen is one tough cookie. The fisherman survived a heart attack and is doing much better now. Keep reading for a health update on America's favorite captain! Sig Hansen, 49, can survive the impossible. While at the helm of his commercial fishing boat Northwestern, Sig suffered from chest pains and was rushed to a hospital after collapsing at sea in Alaska. And now, we have an update on the heroic captain's condition.

Amazingly, the fisherman is out of the hospital and thriving. “Sig is doing much better after he was cared for at Providence Medical Center Alaska in Anchorage,” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “He was discharged, March 2, after receiving treatment for a heart attack. He is with family, doing better and resting.”

Crazy! After years of working the most dangerous job on the planet, Sig has dodged yet another bullet when he survived a heart attack! The official Deadliest Catch Instagram page explains what happened to the crab boat fisherman and Discovery Channel star, “Captain Sig Hansen experienced chest pain at sea during the taping of Deadliest Catch.”

Sig’s daughter, Mandy Hansen, took to Facebook to explain more, “Capt survived the ‘widowmaker’ !! beating a heart attack ain’t easy. Welcome back boss.”

Sig is a true leader with a no quit attitude.The heart attack was not even enough to get this guy to take a break. The Instagram post explains,”While Sig was determined to keep going, the crew acted swiftly and insisted that they dock to get him help.” Wow, that guy is incredible.

Sig was then checked into a hospital for treatment. According to the Instagram page, “He was airlifted to Anchorage, Alaska and immediately rushed to a medical facility. He is with his family and in good spirits. Please send him your love and prayers.”
