Showers and storms hit the Shenandoah Valley on Friday, dropping several inches of rain in some areas. Here are a few totals, as of 5:50 p.m.

Strong wind gusts were recorded across the area. Generally, gusts of 30-50 mph were reported. Timberville had a recorded gust of 53 mph.

We've received a few reports of storm damage. Viewers report power lines and trees down across Turleytown Rd. in Cootes Store near the saw mill ; a tree down on Old Route 55 at Powder Springs Rd. in Moorefield; at least one tree down near I-81 in the Mount Jackson area; and a tree blocking Orchard Rd. near Mechanicsville.
