FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas has had a lot of success recruiting in the Class of 2019, but there’s still needs in the offensive line.

Arkansas has commitments from Tyler (Texas) Robert E. Lee’s Beaux Limmer and Gulf Breeze (Fla.) High’s Joseph Stone. According to sources, the Hogs want to sign up to five prospects in this class.

They used official visits on Wellington (Texas) High’s Trevor Roberson (Texas Tech), St. Louis (Mo.) Lutheran North’s Jack Buford (Missouri) and Charlotte (N.C.) Country Day’s Triston Miller (North Carolina State). All three obviously went elsewhere. Stone and Limmer have also officially visited Arkansas.

Inside the state, Camden Fairview’s Stacey Wilkins (Oklahoma) and Jonesboro’s Darius Thomas (Ole Miss) went elsewhere as well.

The Razorbacks currently have 14 scholarship offensive linemen and two walk-ons on the squad. The breakdown is four seniors, two juniors and sophomores each and then six freshmen including three who redshirted as true freshmen last year. One walk-on lineman is a sophomore and the other a redshirt freshman.

The situation most coaches want on the offensive line is 15 scholarship players on the team. To get to that, Chad Morris and his staff would have to retain the current 10 underclassmen and sign five newcomers.

That is why it seems almost a certainty the Hogs sign a minimum of four offensive linemen and probably five if they can get the right ones.

A couple they are going to likely have officially visit the Oct. 6 weekend when the Hogs host Alabama are Memphis (Tenn.) Whitehaven’s Melvin McBride and Saddleback Community College’s Tim Anderson. Saddleback is located in Mission Viejo (Calif.).

On July 31, McBride posted a top five of Arkansas, Louisville, Tennessee, Memphis and Indiana on Twitter. He also said his recruiting remains open. Arkansas and Louisville are among the teams in on Anderson.

Arkansas is looking at some other junior college options as well. Lackawanna (Pa.) Community College’s Chibeze Nwanna, Garden City (Kan.) Community College’s Bamidele Olaseni and Trinty Valley (Texas) Community College’s Josh Donovan are others the Hogs have been linked to in this class.

Lackawanna is in Scranton (Pa.) while Trinity Valley is in Athens (Texas). Arkansas was recruiting Lackawanna’s Anthony Whigan, but he committed to Penn State.

Jenks (Okla.) High School’s Brady Latham is one to watch. He was at Arkansas’ Woo Pignic BBQ recently. He doesn’t have an offer from the Hogs, but at 6-foot-5, 290-pounds he might be someone they look hard at during the early portion of the 2018 season.

Willis (Texas) High offensive lineman King McGowen is committed to SMU, but someone the Hogs might eventually go back on. The Hogs recently moved on one Indiana commitment in Hayti (Mo.) running back Ivory Winters. Another Hoosier pledge to possibly watch is Cordova (Tenn.) High offensive lineman Matthew Bedford.
