The Applebee's in West Ocean City is closing its doors.

The chain restaurant bar and grill's 12849 Ocean Gateway location will close on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

“We greatly appreciate our neighbors' patronage and look forward to continuing to serve guests at the nearby Applebee's restaurants in the area. All team members were offered positions at nearby restaurants," an Applebee's spokesperson said.

The cause of closure can be a number of things including be located in a "lapsed trade area" or an expired lease, the spokesperson explained.
