The Allen Public Library will commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower voyage with a live virtual program featuring Judie Allen and retired U.S. Navy Capt. James Battles, who co-edited the book Gone to Texas: How Mayflower Descendants Got to Texas.
Allen and Battles have extensively researched the voyage, and both are descendants of passengers on the Mayflower, which brought the first Pilgrims from England to the New World in 1620, landing in what is now Massachusetts.
The event will stream live at 7:30 p.m. June 25 at allentx.swagit.com/live. Viewers can submit questions until 8:30 p.m. June 25 at liveonstage@cityofallen.org.
