A group of French rugby players embroiled in a sex probe after their Six Nations clash with Scotland have been banned from their next match.
The eight players partied in an Edinburgh nightclub and have been carpeted for their “inappropriate behaviour”.
They were allowed to return home after detectives judged no crime had been committed.
But the eight players have now been dropped for breaching strict boozing rules.
A French Rugby Federation statement said: “With their inappropriate behaviour they did not respect their status as international players and the responsibilities that brings.”
Included in those omitted from their next match against Italy was Teddy Thomas who scored twice at Murrayfield.
France rugby team plane stopped by police at Edinburgh Airport
We told yesterday how cops stopped their chartered Jet2 plane from taking off to investigate claims of a sex attack after the two teams partied together at Edinburgh nightclub Lulu and the Tigerlily hotel.
The players were interviewed at the airport as potential witnesses, rather than perpetrators, in the alleged sexual assault.
A police spokesman said: “After an initial report of sexual assault, officers conducted various lines of inquiry, including speaking to potential witnesses.
