Euro 2020 Betting Tips: France early favourites to add European glory to their World Cup trophy

However, Joachim Low’s team have endured a difficult year after crashing out of the World Cup in the group stages and suffering relegation in the Nations League, and are a much lengthier 8/1 (9.00) to reassert themselves with glory next year.

In contrast, England are flying high after reaching the semi-finals in Russia and progressing to the Nations League finals, with 7/1 (8.00) odds underlining they should be real contenders to finally claim a first major trophy since 1966.

Having beaten the Three Lions to the bronze medal last summer, Belgium are also priced at 7/1 (8.00) to claim the trophy their golden generation of stars warrants.

Meanwhile, holders Portugal can be backed at generous 10/1 (11.00) odds to retain the trophy they won in surprising circumstances on French soil in 2016, having also qualified for the Nations League finals.

After failing to reach either of the last two major tournaments, the Netherlands showed signs of a renaissance by finishing ahead of France and Germany in their Nations League group and are available at 12/1 (13.00) to confirm their comeback with some silverware.

Italy are another giant with some making up to do after failing to qualify for the last World Cup, and are on offer at 16/1 (17.00) to become champions of Europe for the first time since 1968.
