A 17-year-old girl has been arrested for a murder and robbery in southern York County earlier this month.

Dazanie Gibson, 17, of Seven Springs, was taken into custody on Friday and charged as an adult with criminal homicide, second-degree murder, third-degree murder, robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery.

State police said Gibson was involved in the robbery and fatal shooting of 20-year-old Stefen Simmons in Chanceford Township on January 6, and she drove the other suspects – 25-year-old Montrice Gibson and 18-year-old Tysheem Santiago – to Simmons’s home.

Charging documents identify Dazanie Gibson as the sister of Montrice Gibson.

Simmons was found dead on a front lawn down the street from his home in the first block of Oriole Circle. An autopsy determined he was killed by a gunshot wound to the chest.

His younger brother told investigators that Simmons was looking to celebrate his release from prison, so they posted photos of money and jewelry on social media, hoping someone would see the post and want to hang out, according to the criminal complaint.

The brother said they planned to meet Montrice Gibson that night and were waiting outside when Gibson and others drove past their house. He said the group in the car soon returned to pick them up, and they turned around then drove a short distance before Dazanie Gibson stopped and rolled down the windows.

A masked man, believed to be Santiago, approached Simmons at the front passenger window and demanded money from him. He then shot Simmons with a handgun, pulled him out of the car, and threw him to the ground, the brother told police.

Santiago got into the front passenger seat and Dazanie Gibson told Simmons’s brother to get out of the car. Gibson and the others then drove off, the complaint states.

Santiago is charged with first, second and third-degree murder, robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Montrice Gibson is charged with homicide, second and third-degree murder, robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery.

All three are being held in York County Prison without bail.
