Flood Watch In NC: Here’s When Rain Will Stop In Huntersville

A flood watch is in effect for much of NC into Saturday, due to heavy rain and melting snow. Here's when you can expect skies to clear up.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — A flood watch is in effect for much of the piedmont of North Carolina, including Mecklenburg County, through Saturday afternoon as the state faces possibly flooding from heavy rains and melting snow, according to the National Weather Service.

Some areas of North Carolina could see up to three inches of rain, which could lead to minor to moderate flooding of streams and main stem rivers, NWS said.

Rain will continue into Saturday throughout the Charlotte metro and Lake Norman regions, leading to patches of fog before noon. By Saturday evening, the chance of rain dips down to 20 percent and mostly cloudy skies. On Sunday, however, the sun will come out, along with clear skies. The weekend will wrap up with highs nearing 60 degrees, NWS said.
