How Jaws of Life cracked case of Florida dog whose head was stuck in cinder block

Fifi the Rottweiler is safe.

The 6-month-old puppy’s head became stuck in a cinder block in the Hastings area Saturday, and out of options, her owner called the St. Johns County communications center in northeastern Florida.

Deputies responded, but Fifi remained trapped. That’s when personnel from the St. Johns Fire Rescue department arrived and attempted to extricate Fifi using soap and water.

That did not work, either, so out came the Jaws of Life.

Bingo.

“Fifi was uninjured and is excited to be sniffing around again,” fire rescue posted on its Facebook page.
