Kentucky attorney indicted on sex crimes including rape, human trafficking

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – A grand jury has indicted a Northern Kentucky attorney on several sex charges, including rape and human trafficking.

The Kentucky Office of the Attorney General says 50-year-old Robert L. Poole, of Burlington, was indicted by a Kenton County Grand jury on Thursday.

Prosecutors say the investigation into Poole, an Erlanger attorney, began after the Campbell County Police Department referred information to the Erlanger Police Department following the 20-year sentencing of former Campbell County District Judge Timothy Nolan.

Prosecutors accepted a guilty plea from Nolan February 9 on 21 counts, including human trafficking of adults, promoting human trafficking of minors and unlawful transaction with minors, against 19 victims.

Poole was indicted on 15 counts of human trafficking of a minor, unlawful transaction with a minor under 16, unlawful transaction with a minor under 18 for illegal sexual acts, human trafficking of an adult for commercial sexual activity, complicity to human trafficking of an adult for commercial sexual activity, rape and bribing a witness.

Poole was arrested Friday and is currently in the Kenton County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court on November in Kenton Circuit Court.
